Surgical site infections represent a significant complication of cesarean deliveries, contributing to postpartum morbidity and mortality. With cesarean deliveries becoming increasingly common, the prevalence of SSIs remains a critical concern despite advancements in preventive measures. This review highlights the importance of understanding the microbiologic spectrum of infections and outlines effective strategies for prevention and management of SSIs in postpartum patients.
