Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) often leads to critical illness requiring ICU admission, yet data on outcomes and management strategies are limited. This review synthesizes findings from thirty-nine studies to identify common triggers for ICU admission, mortality predictors, and the effectiveness of various management strategies. The document highlights that infections, pulmonary involvement, and renal flares are significant admission triggers, with mortality rates varying widely based on disease severity and management approaches.
