The randomized trial evaluates the impact of administering high-dose statins prior to CABG surgery. Previous studies have shown benefits of statin therapy in other cardiac procedures, but data specific to CABG patients are limited. This trial seeks to fill that gap by assessing the outcomes of patients who received statin loading compared to those who did not. The findings could have significant implications for preoperative care in cardiac surgery.
