Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) is associated with significant morbidity and mortality, primarily due to cerebral vasospasm (CV) and delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI). This multicenter randomized controlled trial aimed to assess the neuroprotective effects of magnesium sulfate in preventing CV in aSAH patients. Conducted across four neurocritical care units in Korea, the study involved 121 patients who received either magnesium or placebo within six hours of admission. The primary outcome measured was the incidence of CV, with secondary outcomes including DCI and length of ICU and hospital stays.
