The review systematically searched databases including MEDLINE, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar for studies assessing the impact of creatine supplementation on kidney health. A total of 26 studies involving 1036 participants were included, focusing on outcomes such as serum creatinine levels and glomerular filtration rate (GFR). The findings indicate a significant increase in serum creatinine levels and a reduction in GFR when assessed by creatinine-based methods, highlighting the need for careful consideration of creatine use in individuals with kidney concerns.
