Uganda National Institute of Public Health (UNIPH)
The National Rapid Response Team (NRRT) is a multidisciplinary emergency response unit in Uganda, activated during public health threats. It functions within the Incident Management System (IMS) and comprises specialists in epidemiology, laboratory, IPC, case management, risk communication, and logistics. The NRRT is supported by fellows from the Public Health Fellowship Program (PHFP), an advanced field epidemiology training program hosted at UNIPH, who provide crucial technical capacity for outbreak investigations and response. The document emphasizes the NRRT's role in complementing district health teams, rapid deployment, and adherence to performance benchmarks like the 7:1:7 framework for outbreak detection and response.
