The study found a 16.3% prevalence of sepsis-related AKI, with significant associations identified between AKI and factors such as age, blood pressure changes, and white blood cell counts. The in-hospital mortality rate for patients with AKI was 21%, highlighting the severe impact of limited access to critical care resources in Uganda.
